Dear Sweetheart,
I have been pretty blue this week because I haven't got any letters. I haven't had much time to write myself because we have been training just about all the time. We get up at 5:45 in the morning and make our beds and sweep out. At 6:00 we fall outside and take exercise. We have from 6:15 until 15 minutes till 7:00 to shave and wash. Then we eat breakfast and fall out again at 7:30 for marching. Then at 8:30, we go to the big guns for drill all day until 5:00pm. The other night we trained after supper from 7:00 until 9:00. Honey, I have plenty to do but most of it isn't very hard work.
Today was payday but I didn't get anything because someone got the payroal (payroll) mixed up someway. They say that we will be payed (paid) later, but I don't know whether I will get anything or not. Some of the boys think we won't get a thing. They sure are blue tonight. We had a parade yesterday. It lasted about 3 hours. We marched just about all over San Pedro then marched in front of the head officer for inspection. We sure was (were) tired when we got back to camp. We had to march with a gun, gun-belt, tin hat, and sord (sword) or banite (bayonet).
Honey I wish you could hear the boys here at night when they are asleep. They talk, yell, and walk in there (their) sleep. It's the funniest thing you ever heard or seen.
Today (this morning) we cut the grass around the guns. It was the first time I ever cut grass in Feb.
Sweetheart, do you still love me? I love you and still want to get married just as soon as I get back. Please honey stay with Mother and Daddy until I come back if you still love me. All I can think about since I left home is you. Honey I forgot to thank you for the newspaper clippings. I know the boy that wrote the one you ask about when I see him but we are not aquainted (acquainted) with each other. There are about 130 in "C" Battery and I don't know only 4 or 5 of them. They are all friendly and would do anything for each other they could. Everyone is that way in the army that I have seen.
Write often Honey. I will every time I get a chance.

I love you Honey
Honey I am going to try and get some pictures (If I every (ever) get paid) and sent to you (send them to you). We cant take any pictures gitting permission from the Comanding (commanding) officer here. Sometimes they wont give us the pictures even then, because they might show something that is supposed to be a secret. That is why I haven't got any pictures yet.
Honey the boy I run around with don't drink or go with any girl. He do (does) like girls from (for) some reason or other. He also belongs to chirch (church), and his home is in Texas. Sometimes I am with a boy from Huntington, W.Va.. He has a girl there and won't even look at a girl here. I can't blame him much. I haven't saw (seen) a pretty girl since I left W.Va. They are all Mexican and Chinese and are ugly as a cow. Everyone that has saw (seen) your picture says that you are the prettyest (prettiest) girl they ever saw. Honey, I realy (really) mean this. I get blue every time I look at it.
I can't think of anything else to write about now so I will close now; hoping you are alright (I am ok)
I wish these were real
P.S. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
Don't show this to anyone Please. You can tell them the news (No one see's (sees) your letters, your husband)
With all my love,
Your loving Husband
