Feb. Wed. 1941
Dear Roxie,
I reached California last night at 12:00, boy was I tired. We stayed in our cars, on the train, for four day (days) and three nights without getting off.
I think I will like it better here than I did at Columbis (Columbus) We are not allowed to leave the for 6 weeks, then only when we are ordered too (to).
We are up on a high hill so we can look out on the Pacific Ocean and see ships comeing (coming) in to land. It sure is a pretty place. I will try to get some pictures, later on, and send them to you. There is a sign at the entrance of the fort that say (says) "no pictures to be taken". It is just like summer out here.
I hope you are still at home with Mother. I want to write her a letter too, tonight if I have time.
Honey, I want you to be true to me while I am gone. I couldn't two-time you if I wanted to ( I don't want to)
I will have to close now if I am going to write to mother. I will try to write more the next time.
All my love to you,
Your Husband
